Make every effort to investigate the Dasu incident, Prime Minister Imran Khan assured his Chinese counterparts

Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan has assured Chinese Premier Li Keqiang that he will make every effort to deal with the Dasu bus incident, which killed 12 people, including 9 Chinese citizens.
On Friday, during a phone call with Li Keqiang, Prime Minister Khan expressed condolences for the Chinese citizens who lost their lives in the tragic incident in Upper Kochstein.
“Every effort will be made to investigate this incident,” the prime minister said, adding that the safety of Chinese citizens in Pakistan is the government’s top priority.
He said that the enemy will never be allowed to damage the fraternal relationship between the two countries.
‘Terrorism cannot be ruled out’
On Thursday, Information Minister Favad Chowdhury stated that the Dassault accident “cannot rule out terrorism.”
“The preliminary investigation into the Dasu incident has now confirmed traces of explosives,” the minister said.
He once stated that Prime Minister Imran Khan “personally supervises all developments in this area” and that the government is coordinating closely with the Chinese Embassy.
“We are committed to jointly combating the threat of terrorism,” he said.
Earlier in the day, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri stated that a “full” investigation into the incident had been launched, adding that “they are also dealing with terrorism from the perspective of terrorism. It conducts an investigation”.
He added that he is in close contact with Chinese officials.
The bus crashed into the ravine
A statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that on Wednesday, a bus carrying Chinese workers crashed into a ravine in Khyber Phunkhwa after a “explosion caused by a gas leak due to a mechanical failure”.
According to the statement, the Chinese workers and accompanying Pakistani staff are “going to their workplaces for an ongoing project”.
