Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed, formerly the head of the country’s premier spy agency, was on Wednesday transferred and appointed as Corps Commander Peshawar, said the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Announcing multiple postings, the military’s media wing added that Lt Gen Muhammad Aamer has been posted as Corps Commander Gujranwala while Lt Gen Syed Asim Munir will be the new Quarter Master General (QMG) of the Pakistan Army.

The military has not yet announced the name of Gen Faiz’s replacement as director-general Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).

Lt Gen Faiz was appointed the director-general of ISI in June 2019. He had served in the ISI for two-and-a-half years before being promoted to the rank of Lt Gen.
