List of U.S. Olympic baseball teams: Every player in the Tokyo 2021 team

The US men’s national baseball team announced the roster on Friday-this team will become the sixth Olympic baseball team in history and the first team since the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

The 24-man team of the United States will hope to win the team’s fourth Olympic medal and second gold medal in history. Because baseball is not an Olympic event in the 2012 or 2016 Olympics, every player on the 2020 roster will participate in the Olympics for the first time.

The following is a list of the US men’s national baseball teams before the Summer Olympics. The Summer Olympics will begin on Friday, July 23. The baseball tournament will start on July 28.

The US team’s roster is mainly composed of players from the MiLB club, but there are also some free agents as well as members of the Japanese professional baseball and Mexican leagues. Each player will participate in the Olympics for the first time.

Who coaches the American men’s baseball team?

Mike Scioscia will coach the US team in 2020. He has 19 years of management experience with the Angels and also served as the Dodgers coach in 1997 and 1998. Joining him are Roly de Armas (bullpen coach), Darren Fenster (third base), Dave Wallace (pitcher), Jerry Weinstein (first base) and Ernie Young (batting).

The coaching staff has more than 100 years of coaching experience, leading the team to a 4-0 qualifying record.

American baseball team at the Olympics

The U.S. baseball team has achieved good results in the Summer Olympics, winning bronze medals in at least four of the first five games and winning three medals. It wasn’t until the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games that baseball became an official Olympic event. That year, the US team ranked fourth after losing 8-3 to the Japanese team in the bronze medal match.

The US team won the bronze medal at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, and then won the first and only gold medal at the 2000 Olympics (Sydney). The US team did not participate in the medal competition in 2004 (Athens) and won the bronze medal in the 2008 Olympic Games (Beijing). Baseball was not listed as an Olympic event in 2012 or 2016.

U.S. Baseball Team 2021 Olympic Games Schedule

The US team is one of six teams that have qualified for the Tokyo Olympics along with Israel, South Korea, the Dominican Republic, Japan and Mexico. Before the knockout stage from August 1st to 7th, the US team played two guaranteed games against Israel and South Korea on July 30th and 31st. All games will be held at Yokohama Stadium.

The U.S. ranks fourth in the world World Baseball and Softball RankingThe host Japan ranks first; South Korea ranks third; Mexico ranks fifth; Dominican Republic ranks seventh; Israel ranks 24th.

The first game between the United States and Israel is scheduled for July 30th at 6 a.m. Eastern Time.
