Karachi’s coronavirus infection rate reaches 10.71%

Karachi: The Sindh Health Bureau stated on Thursday that the city’s COVID-19 infection rate reached 10.71% in the past 24 hours and did not fall below 10% in the last week.

The health department stated that 3,888 cases of COVID-19 were recorded in the first week of July, when 80 people died of the virus in the metropolis and 36,296 tests were performed at the same time.

In the first week of July, 21 people in the Central District, 19 in the West District, 16 in the East District, 12 in the South District, 8 in the Korangi District, and 4 in the Mariel District died.

Pakistan’s COVID-19 cases continue to surge

At the same time, the latest statistics from the National Command and Operations Center show that in the past 24 hours, another 24 people have died of COVID-19 in Pakistan.

In the past 24 hours, most deaths occurred in Sindh province, followed by Punjab province. Of the 24 deaths, 15 died from ventilators.

NCOC statistics show that after 50,531 tests in the past 24 hours, 1,683 people tested positive for the coronavirus.

The country’s current positive rate is 3.33%, and the number of daily cases is gradually rising again. Currently, the number of active cases is 34,531.
