Karachi man confessed to raping and killing a 6-year-old child in Korangi: Police

Karachi: According to a report by Geographic News on Saturday, a suspect arrested by Karachi police admitted to raping and killing a 6-year-old girl in Korangi.

At 6 o’clock in the morning last Wednesday, her body was found wrapped in a thick cushion. Investigators said the girl’s autopsy revealed that she was raped and her neck was broken.

According to the police, the main suspect Zakir stated in his confession that he put the girl into the rickshaw at around 11.30pm and drove the rickshaw for an hour. He said that when he took the girl to the Sunday market in Korangi around 12:30 pm, he was drunk.

According to Zakir’s statement, the victim was alive and in a semi-comatose state after raping her. He said that she “jumped up and broke her neck suddenly”.

The arrested man said that he threw the girl into the garbage dump, then went home and told his wife that he had been driving.

The police said the suspect bought a ticket to Multan and then went home to pick up his clothes. He called his wife and said he wanted to escape Karachi with the children.

Rape and murder

Last week, a 6-year-old child was raped and killed in Karachi. SSP Korangi Shahjahan Khan said that her body was found in a garbage can in the city.

Police officials said that the doctor in the preliminary medical report found that the girl living in Corangi was raped before being murdered.

SSP Khan said that the girl came out of her house to play at 9pm the previous night, but when she did not go home, her family reported the incident to the police at around 12am.

“At 6 am, the girl’s body was found in the garbage dump,” he said, adding that witnesses told the police that a rickshaw driver left the 6-year-old body there.

At the same time, investigators said that the child risked leaving her house after a power outage at night. “The girl’s father asked her to play in the alley outside.”

However, when she did not return after a while, the family began to look for her, the team said, adding that at 6 am, the girl’s body was found wrapped in a thick cushion.

Investigators said: “The body was found near an abandoned school and on the ground where a drug addict is located.” They said the girl’s autopsy had been completed, which showed that she was raped and her neck was broken.
