Jamaat believes that the PTI government’s flawed policies are responsible for inflation and unemployment

As part of the ongoing national campaign against inflation and unemployment in Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), the Karachi branch of the Political Religious Party organized a rally on Sunday. Speakers believed that the federal government’s mismanagement, incompetence and flawed policies were the Inflation and unemployment in the country.

Speaking at a protest rally on Jinnah Road in New MA, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, head of JI Karachi, said that inflation and unemployment have broken all records under the Pakistan Justice Movement (PTI) regime.

He called the country’s current unemployment rate a tsunami of unemployment, and since the current regime took power, the middle and lower classes have been in distress. He said that the whole country is protesting the appeal of JI Emir Sirajul Haq. “Inflation and unemployment have affected the kitchens of nearly 98% of Pakistan’s population,” he added.

Rahman denied the promising economic data released by the government and believed that these data were false and fabricated because the government’s economic policies did not have a positive impact on the public.

He said that the recent budget was adopted in accordance with the instructions of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and it has affected the public in a very unfavorable way. The mayor of Jizhou City believes that rising inflation has directly translated into the deterioration of the mass economy. He also questioned the impression that the gap between imports and exports has narrowed.

He severely criticized the recent budget and asked what budget caused the price of oil and electricity to rise every other day. He claimed that K-Electric had consistently overcharged electricity consumers in Karachi because the company’s founder enjoyed the support of PTI leaders.

“If you can’t provide electricity, natural gas and a peaceful environment, why do you tax the masses?” he asked. The JI leaders also lashed out at the policies adopted by the government under the guidance of the IMF. He said: “The current economic system is based on the slavery of the International Monetary Fund.” He added: “There are several examples of economies in the world that do not use the IMF.”

Rahman emphasized the plight of Karachi, saying that Karachi faces discrimination because of the political superiority of the ruler. He said that Pakistan’s Mutahida Kami Movement (MQM-P) recently proposed a joint struggle to JI to ensure Karachi’s future. However, he reminded MQM-P that they are part of the federal government.

“In addition, MQM-P has long enjoyed the treasury bench in Sindh and the center, but has not taken any practical measures to ensure the rights of Karachi people,” Lehman said. He commented that MQM-P supports those who report false results of the recent census in official documents, which have reduced Karachi’s population by half. The JI leader also accused MQM-P of being part of the mafia that undermined Karachi.

Rahman also talked about the delayed K-IV water supply project and reminded Prime Minister Imran Khan of his requirements for the well-being of the country. “JI is the future of the entire country, especially Karachi,” he said.

JI Karachi Deputy Emil Osama Razi said that inflation and unemployment have made people’s lives miserable. “The situation has reached the point where people have to protest for their basic rights. People are forced to commit suicide because of despair,”

He says.

He urged the public to join the path of political struggle to ensure their basic rights instead of making wrong decisions. He believed that capitalists, feudal lords, civilians and military bureaucrats were responsible for the current situation.

JI Karachi Secretary-General Munim Zaffar and minority leader Younus Sohan also spoke at the demonstration. A large number of JI supporters and residents from all over the city participated in the protest. Protesters held placards and banners against current economic policies and chanted slogans against rising inflation. They also chanted slogans against an interest-based economic system.
