Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa has emphasized on effective integration of various arms and services during training, saying it is “imperative for befitting response to an adversary during the war”.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the army chief remarked during his visit to Pano Aqil in Sukkur, Sindh on Tuesday.

The COAS was given detailed briefing on operational preparedness of the desert formation training in field, added the military’s media wing. He also witnessed training of formation at Field Firing Ranges, Salehpat.

The participating troops, the ISPR said, demonstrated integrated battle drills by various components as part of the defensive battle in the desert including fire and manoeuvre.

While interacting with troops, Gen Qamar appreciated their combat readiness, training standards and high morale while training under such tough conditions.

He also planted a tree as part of the Sarsabz-o-Shadab Pakistan campaign.

The army chief commended formation for the undertaking in unfavourable desert conditions aimed at preservation of environment and strengthening defence of the area.

Later, Gen Qamar visited family of Sepoy Hizb Ullah Jatoi Shaheed in Dattar Dino village in Pano Aqil, who embraced martyrdom on 5th September due to an IED attack on Frontier Corps (FC) troops deployed in Quetta.

He inquired about the well-being of the family and directed all concerned to ensure welfare of the families of Shuhada who have sacrificed their lives for the defence of the motherland, the ISPR said.
