After Sri Lanka captain Dasun Shanaka won the toss and chose to hit the ball again, the hosts hit 275 in the fifties fight between Avishka Fernando and Charith Asalanka. India lost the wicket early, but the late hero of their low-level batsman helped them cross the finish line with five goals.

This is the Indian’s score card for hitting XI in the second ODI against Sri Lanka.

IND and SL 2021, the second ODI: Indian player ratings

Pritvi Shaw: 4/10

After Shaw hit three boundaries in the first game, Sri Lanka seemed to have another difficult game. However, an inspiring bowling change made Wanindu Hasaranga Castle a googly opener in a well-disguised form. It seems inevitable that we will see more teams spin Shaw early.

Shikhar Dhawan: 6/10

Dhawan’s bowling changed very well and started well in the chase, but lost his wicket in a straight broken leg in Hasaranga. He will be disappointed to be fired, but he will be proud of keeping the 100% Indian captain record intact.

Mount Yishan: 4/10

The hero Kishan of the last game caught a good ball and completed a smart jumper, but his main skills let him down. After hitting a blow, the left-hander shreds to return only 1 while trying to loose and gorgeous cut.

Manish Pandi: 7/10

Before a short penalty kick threatened to ruin his game, Pandey started confidently, but recovered very well after losing three wickets, keeping India on the hunt. He unfortunately shot an excellent 37 at the end of the non-forward game. Pandey nearly hit a stunner, but gave up a chance he could seize in the second turnover of the first game.

Suryakumar Yadav: 8/10

Suryakumar recorded his virgin ODI fifty in this format only in his second game and seemed to be a class at the crease. After hitting a six-pointer and easily defeating the Sri Lankan bowler, he took another big step to gain a place in the Indian white ball.

Kronalpandia: 7.5/10

Kronal played a neat spell, conceding only 37 points in eight games. With a bat, he firmly kept India on the hunt with a 35-stroke combat power, and then lost his stump to Hasaranga.

Hardick Pandia: 3/10

Another Pandya had an unforgettable outing. When he was fighting the heat in Colombo, he took four shots and barely had any speed. When his team desperately needed him to control the game, the all-around player then walked back three goals.

Deepak Chahar: 9.5/10

The best player of the Indian team performed well in the second ODI game. If it weren’t for a catch error, Chahar would have wickets in a strong game, and stay calm, catching two in the middle of the ball. He was the driving force behind the pursuit, scoring an undefeated 69 points and leading the team to a historic victory.

Kurdip Yadav: 6.5/10

Kuldeep did not perform well in the second ODI game, but played pretty well from start to finish. When the batsman chased him, he still seemed a little uneasy, but as he played, he should slowly gain confidence.

Bouvenshwar Kumar: 8/10

Bhuvneshwar was the worst bowler in the series’ opener, but he performed well in the second ODI and eventually won three wickets. However, the pace is not fast enough, a rest game may be good for him. He scored an unbeaten 19 points and helped Chahar bring India home.

Juzvindra Chahar: 9/10

The Indian bowler’s choice, Chahar snatched three wickets in the second ODI. The important thing is that he broke the initial partnership, and then quickly took over another partnership one after another to put the brakes on Sri Lanka’s charge.
