According to Indian media reports, Indian wicketkepeer batter Rishab Pant tested positive for the coronavirus in England.

Media reports stated that the cricket player was isolated at home after testing positive for the infection, adding that the Indian team without Pant had left and headed to Durham’s biosafety zone.

India plans to play a five-match test series against England in the next few days.

According to media reports, Pant was tested for COVID-19 eight days ago and is currently asymptomatic.

Rajiv Shukla, vice president of the Indian Cricket Control Council (BCCI), said that no other players have been affected by the virus.

“Yes, a player tested positive, but he has been in isolation for the past eight days. He did not live in any hotel with the team, so no other players were affected,” Shukla told PTI.

The news that Pant tested positive for infection came when seven members of the English cricket team contracted the virus before the Pakistan Tour.

England was forced to announce the second choice team in the Pakistan ODI series, with Ben Stokes as the captain, because the entire team was ordered to be quarantined.
