In the past 24 hours, COVID-19 has claimed another 45 lives across the country, bringing the death toll from the disease to 23,016.
According to the latest National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) update, when 44,579 samples were tested, as many as 2,819 new Covid-19 cases emerged.
It said that the positive rate of infection was 6.32%. After the detection of 2,819 new cases, the number of cases in the country climbed to 1,004,694.
NCOC said that a total of 2,573 patients across the country are receiving intensive care in hospitals, and the number of people who have recovered from the disease in the past 24 hours has increased by 1,176, and the number of people who have recovered since the beginning of the pandemic is 925,958.
Sindh province remains the most affected province with 364,784 cases, followed by Punjab province with 352,682 cases of COVID-19. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has reported 141,627 cases, Islamabad has reported 85,519 cases, Balochistan has 29,494 cases, Gilgit-Baltistan has reported 7,702 cases of COVID-19, and AJK has reported 22,886 cases.
