Pakistan’s Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) has decided to use Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly Barrister Sultan Mehmood as candidates for the regional presidential election.

Barrister Sultan Mehmood, who served as the prime minister of the region, has been elected as a PTI vote from La-3 Mirpur.

When Imran Khan decided to support Sardar Kayumnyazi, he was one of the most popular contenders for the position of prime minister in the region.

In announcing the timetable, the regional election commission stated that Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) presidential elections will be held on August 17.

The Election Commission stated that candidates can submit nomination documents for the presidential election on August 12.

Candidates can withdraw their nomination documents before August 16. According to the Election Commission, the voting will be held from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on August 17.

The 53 members of the Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly will vote for the new president of the region.

The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Azad Kashmir will swear an oath to the new president on August 24. It is necessary to mention here that the term of the current President Masood Khan will end on August 24.
