Islamabad: Federal Minister of the Interior Sheikh Rashid said on Wednesday that Prime Minister Imran Khan will complete his term and the opposition can do whatever they want, but this will not stop the Prime Minister.

Rashid said at a press conference that the next four to six months will be of vital importance to Pakistan.

“The opposition party is allowed to work within the scope of the Constitution and the law,” he said, adding that Prime Minister Imran Khan was given an “incompetent opposition”, so the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) can do whatever it wants.

He said: “PDM will see Imran Khan in December next year and the next prime minister’s seat.”

Speaking of PPP chairman Vilavar Bhutto-Zardari, Rashid said he did not know what he was doing.

Rashid laughed at him, adding that Bilaval “has been casting a vote of no confidence since he was born.”

He also talked about Pakistan’s role in the international frontier and said that the country will play an important role in Central Asia.

When discussing PML-N, Rasheed stated that Nawaz Sharif’s passport was cancelled on February 16, but Shahbaz Sharif did not appeal, requesting that his name be removed from the Exit Control List (ECL).

On terrorism and Afghanistan

Rashid emphasized that Pakistan will no longer be used as a battlefield because it has already sacrificed more than 80,000 people in the fight against terrorism.

He added: “Prime Minister Imran Khan has made it clear that the country will not allow anyone to interfere in its business, but this approach faces many tests and difficulties.”

Rashid warned of the possibility of terrorist activities in the country and stated that there are certain factors aimed at causing anarchy and destruction in Pakistan.

The minister further informed the media that 98% of the Afghan border and 46% of the Iranian border have been enclosed.

When talking about the situation in Afghanistan, Rashid said: “Afghans should care about their problems. This is their own decision.”

He clarified that no refugees entered Pakistan from Afghanistan through the border, and everything at the border was in a “first-rate” state.

Weapons license

Speaking of weapons licenses, Rashid said that the days when 100,000 licenses were issued without any formal procedures are gone.

“There are now rules, regulations, taxes and standards for issuing weapons licenses to citizens.”

He further stated that obtaining an arms license is not like obtaining a CNIC or a passport. As long as he is the Minister of the Interior, the arms license will only be issued based on his performance.

About India’s war against Pakistan

The Minister of the Interior claimed that India and Afghanistan’s National Security Agency (NDS) have waged a war against Pakistan in the media.

“The National Defense Forces and India have joined forces to humiliate Pakistan in the international community,” he said.
