ICC put Pakistan and India in one group

• ICC announces men’s T20 World Cup grouping
• Australia, England, South Africa and the West Indies have been grouped into a group of Super12.
• Afghanistan, India, Pakistan and New Zealand are in another Super 12 group.
• This is the first multi-team event organized by the ICC since the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dubai: The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced on Friday that India and Pakistan will face off in the super 12 second stage of the 2021 Men’s T20 World Cup.

ICC announced the first round of the game and the division of the Super 12-player stage-this is the first multi-team event organized by the cricket agency since the COVID-19 pandemic.

These teams are selected based on the team rankings as of March 20, 2021. The defending champion West Indies joins former champions England, Australia and South Africa to enter the first group of the Super 12, the first round of two qualifiers Also joined them.

The second group will include former champions India and Pakistan, New Zealand, Afghanistan and two other qualifiers in the first round.

Eight teams will participate in the first round, including the automatic qualifiers for Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. The remaining six teams have reserved their seats through the 2019 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup qualifiers.

Ireland, the Netherlands and Namibia and Sri Lanka are in Group A, while Oman, Papua New Guinea and Scotland will play against Bangladesh in Group B.

It is worth mentioning that due to the pandemic, the game will be held in the UAE and Oman from October 17th to November 14th after being transferred from India.

Round 1

Group A: Sri Lanka, Ireland, the Netherlands and Namibia

Group B: Bangladesh, Scotland, Papua New Guinea and Oman

Super 12s

Group 1: England, Australia, South Africa, West Indies, A1 and B2.

Group 2: India, Pakistan, New Zealand, Afghanistan, A2 and B1.
