  • Each game earns 12 points, regardless of the length of the series.
  • The teams will be ranked according to the percentage of winning points.
  • The second edition of the World Trade Center will kick off at the England-India Series held in Nottingham on August 4.

The International Cricket Committee said on Wednesday that after receiving feedback that it needed “simplification”, it had changed the scoring system before the second World Test Championship (WTC).

The sport’s global governing body (ICC) stated that the team that wins each game will receive 12 points, a tie will receive 4 points, and a tie will receive 6 points. The percentage of winning points will be used to determine the standings.

Previously, each series was assigned the same number of points, and they were distributed according to the number of matches.

This change will apply to the second edition of the World Trade Center.

In November, the International Criminal Court stated that after the COVID-19 pandemic disrupts the schedule, the teams will be ranked according to the percentage of points earned by completing the game to determine the finalists.

ICC Acting Chief Executive Officer Geoff Allardice said in a statement: “We have received feedback that the previous points system needs to be simplified.” statement.

“The Cricket Committee took this into consideration when proposing a new standardized scoring system for each game.

“It maintains the principle of ensuring that all games in the World Trade Center series are counted in the team rankings, while accommodating series of different lengths between two tests and five tests.

New Zealand defeated India with 8 wickets in the final last month and won the first World Trade Center championship.

The second edition of the World Trade Center will begin on August 4th in the England-India Series in Nottingham. The nine participating teams will each play six series, three home games and three away games. The deadline is March 31, 2023.
