From September 27, the technology giant Google will stop logging in on Android devices running Android 2.3.7 or lower. When you plan to use Google products and services such as Gmail, YouTube, and Maps, it will display a wrong username or password.

The company said in the update: “If your device can be updated to a newer Android version (3.0+), we recommend that you do so in order to continue to access Google applications and services on the device.”

The company added: “As part of our ongoing efforts to ensure user safety, starting September 27, 2021, Google will no longer allow logins on Android devices running Android 2.3.7 or lower.”

Android 2.3.7 was released nearly 10 years ago.

When the Google account login support ends on Android 2.3.7 and lower versions, if users try to log in to their device or add an email or calendar account, they will receive an incorrect username or password.

“You will be able to log in to your account with a newer Android version (3.0 or higher). If your device can be updated to a newer Android version (3.0+), we recommend that you do so,” Google suggested.

If you cannot update your device to a newer Android version (3.0+), you can try to log in to your Google account on the device’s web browser.

After you log in to Google on your device’s web browser, you can still use some Google services.
