Deputy Commissioner Gwadar said on Friday that he is implementing Article 144 of the Criminal Procedure Law and will place all four tehsils in the area in a “complete lockdown” for 15 days starting on Sunday, July 25.

According to the Deputy Commissioner’s notice, the decision was made “after the fourth wave of COVID-19 spread in the Gwadar region”.

The notice said that during this period, all shops, hotels and restaurants will continue to be closed except for a few stores that are basic services. Eating out and takeaway are allowed, but they must comply with the standard operating procedures prescribed by the government.

The notice stated that even for shops that are not subject to closing restrictions, only visitors who are vaccinated and wearing masks are allowed, provided they maintain social distancing, and added that shop owners must wear masks and ensure that hand sanitizers are readily available.

In addition, according to the notice, only fishermen who have been vaccinated can enter the sea to fish. During the entire 15-day period, all fish markets will remain closed.

The notice stated that only a limited number of fishermen were allowed to place bets in accordance with the agreement with the fishermen’s association.

During this period, all tourists are prohibited from entering Gwadar.

Parks, beach attractions, playgrounds, etc. will also be completely closed.
