GSV has received notice of signing an agreement with PFF’s Ashfaq Group

Karachi: The Normalization Committee of the Pakistan Football Association has issued a legal notice to the company. The company recently reached an agreement with PFF’s Ashfaq Hussain Group to organize a franchise-based football league.

The Chairman of the Standardization Committee appointed by FIFA confirmed to Geographic News that they have issued a legal notice to protect the legitimate rights and interests of the Pakistan Football Association.

“FIFA and PSB have clarified that only the Standardization Committee is the legal representative of Pakistan’s football affairs. No party other than NC has the right to sign any agreement on behalf of PFF,” Haroon Malik said.

After his predecessor Humza Khan resigned, Malik was appointed by FIFA as the chairman of the PFF Normalization Committee earlier this year. However, in May, the group led by Syed Ashfaq Hussain Shah – who was earlier elected as PFF president on elections held on Supreme Court’s order – took over the charge from him, allegedly forcibly.

The Ashfaq Group announced earlier this week that they have established a partnership with Global Soccer Venture to launch a franchise-based football league.

However, Haroon Malik has warned GSV not to enter into any agreement with Ashfaq Hussain.

Geo News has obtained a copy of the notice sent by Haroon Malik to GVS CEO Zabe Khan through his legal representative.

“Please note that the illegal faction is led by Mr. Said Ashfaq Hussein. He is neither the chairman of the PFF nor the authority to sign any such agreements on behalf of the PFF. It is not a legal institution and does not have any Power. Therefore, any signed agreement is illegal and illegal. PFF led by our client [Haroon Malik] FIFA, recognized by FIFA, remains the only legal body representing Pakistani football in Pakistan and internationally,” wrote the notice issued by Kilam’s legal counsel on behalf of the Normalization Committee.

“We hereby instruct you to keep your distance from illegal factions and revoke any agreement (if reached), otherwise you will be responsible for all losses incurred by our customers. Therefore, our customers strictly instruct us to bring all laws against you before all competent legal forums Litigation in response to your damage, loss of reputation, damage to Pakistani football or its players,” the notice warned.

“We hope to get an official reply within 7 days to understand your position,” it added.

Earlier Wednesday, Zabekhan told Geographic News that his company is committed to changing the ecosystem of Pakistani football and that they do not participate in any internal politics of the PFF.

“We plan to pay our football players about US$3,000 to US$10,000 each season, which they have never done before,” he said.

Zabe Khan has confirmed that he has received the notification from the Normalization Committee.
