General Bajwa discusses regional issues and military cooperation with Azerbaijani leaders

Chief of Staff of the Army (COAS) General Kamal Javed Bajwa held talks with President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan on Monday to discuss regional issues and strengthen military cooperation between the two countries.
General Bajwa also visited Colonel Hasanov Zakir Oglu, Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan at the meeting.
During a two-day official visit to the country, the Army Chief of Staff held talks with dignitaries in Baku. During the meeting, the two sides discussed issues of common concern, the regional security situation, including the latest developments in the Afghanistan peace process and the defense and security cooperation between the two countries in various fields.
The Chief of Staff of the Army said that Pakistan and Azerbaijan share common values based on rich cultural, religious and historical origins, and have great geostrategic significance/potential, which can achieve mutual benefit and strengthen cooperation in all forums.
General Bajwa also stated that the Pakistan Army hopes to further strengthen the military cooperation and regional partnership between the two countries.
The dignitaries thank the Chief of Staff of the Pakistan Army for his support to Azerbaijan in international forums.
Earlier, upon arriving at the Ministry of Defense, the Army Chief of Staff was also awarded a guard of honor by a shrewd military contingent.
