Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani launched the Sindh School Information and Management System (SSIMS) on Tuesday and stated that teachers can now apply for transfers under the electronic transfer policy recently approved by the provincial cabinet.

He said that describing the electronic transfer facility as a revolutionary move, teachers will no longer need to go to the office to make transfers and make appointments. Instead, he said, they would submit applications through an electronic portal via a mobile phone or computer.

Due to the situation of Covid-19, this year’s electronic transfer system began to operate on July 6, and from next year, it will be activated before the start of the school year. Through this policy, teachers can change their workplace 15 days a year.

Gani said that under this policy, three areas have been created: one is a red area, the second is a green area, and the third is a yellow area. Since the number of teachers in the red zone exceeds the prescribed student ratio, only teachers in the red zone can be transferred to the green zone.

Similarly, the number of teachers in the yellow area meets the required teacher-student ratio. This is why, they will not be able to enter the red zone. However, only teachers in the red zone can enter the green zone if they are transferred to the green zone. And the number of people here exceeds the prescribed ratio. Although the number of teachers in the green area is less than the prescribed ratio, teachers in the red area will be able to communicate easily in this area.

The Minister explained that the transfer of teachers will be carried out before the start of each school year, and the allocated time will be 15 days, after which it will not be possible to transfer teachers throughout the year. However, he added that the transfer from the red zone to the green zone will continue through tearing.

He said that this policy was implemented after the approval of the Sindhi cabinet, adding that the problem of teacher shortage will be resolved without any favoritism. He said that the purpose of this policy is to allow children to learn without any interference.
