Former hockey player Navid Alam died after a long battle with cancer

His daughter confirmed on Tuesday that a member of the former hockey Olympian and 1994 World Cup champion Naveed Alam has passed away.

Earlier this month, Alam was diagnosed with blood cancer.

His daughter said that he received chemotherapy at Shaukat Khanum Hospital in Lahore last night and his health deteriorated afterwards.

His daughter said that after his health deteriorated, he was transferred to the intensive care unit.

His family revealed earlier this month that the former athlete had felt unwell for several days and went to Shaukat Kanum Memorial Hospital, where doctors learned of his condition.

Alam called on the federal and provincial governments to pay attention to and provide necessary assistance for his treatment at an estimated cost of 4 million rupees.

The 47-year-old member of the Olympia Forum is arranging funds, of which the 47-year-old is an active member. Later, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdal announced that Alam’s treatment costs would be borne by the Punjab government.
