FM Shah Mehmood Qureshi asks India to reconsider its position on KPL

Foreign Minister Mahdum Shah Mahmoud Qureshi condemned India’s negative attitude and conspiracy towards the Kashmir Premier League (KPL) and called on the International Cricket Council (ICC) to pay attention to India’s actions.

Qureshi said in an interview with the media at the Capitol: “Kashmiri players from Azad Kashmir or India-controlled Kashmir should be encouraged to perform well.”

“Kashmiris are very interested in cricket. They are waiting for the KPL to be held. India should reconsider its position because this attitude will only bring shame to the country.”

Shah Mahmoud Qureshi called on the Narendra Modi government to host the same cricket match in Indian-occupied Kashmir (IoK).

“Who prevented you from doing this?” he asked. He also reminded India not to politicize sports, because hosting the Kashmir Premier League is a normal event.
