Afghan Foreign Minister Qureshi is attending the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting in Dushanbe because the world’s conflict in Afghanistan is intensifying.
Foreign Minister Qureshi will attend the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. During the three-day visit, the Pakistani Foreign Minister will deliver a speech at the Council of Ministers and attend the meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Foreign Ministers’ Contact Group on Afghanistan.
At the meeting, the foreign minister will “reiterate Pakistan’s position on issues such as the peace process in Afghanistan, changes in the regional situation and the promotion of regional cooperation,” a press release said.
During the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, he will meet with colleagues from Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, Russia and China.
These meetings will discuss bilateral and regional relations, as well as issues of common concern.
During the visit, Foreign Minister Qureshi will also meet with Tajik President Emomali Rakhmon.
The Dushanbe Summit will review a number of important documents for adoption by the SCO Council of Heads of State in September this year Radio pakistan.
