Fire the defendant who has not yet been arrested

Lahore: On Saturday night, Lahore police failed to round up armed men who opened fire in a high security zone, killing one woman and wounding six others outside the prison camp on Ferozepur Road.

However, Lytton Road police have filed a lawsuit against six people for killing a woman outside the prison camp and injuring six others. The case has been registered against Zulfiqar, a resident of Jehangir Park in Shahdara Township, in accordance with Articles 302, 324, 148, 149 and 109 PPC.

According to the complainant Zulfiqar, he worked in a fruit market. He was arrested for a murder registered at the Shahdara Town Police Station (No 1990/20) and sent to Camp Jail. On July 3, his temporary bail was accepted and released.

His wife Mumtaz Bibi, daughter Iqra and other relatives Muhammad Kibria met him outside the prison camp. When his wife and daughter were about to set foot on the rickshaw, the accused Azhar Khan and Tanvel Mughal, along with their unidentified accomplices, arrived there by car and motorcycle and shot. As a result, his daughter, Rickshaw driver Gulam Rasul, Muhammad Yar’s son and three passersby; Imdad Ullah, 24, Ajmal’s son, Zahid, 13, Abdul Sattar’s son, a woman, Muhammad Nawaz’s wife Rukhsana, was injured. The defendant fled the scene after committing the crime in the high security zone.

The injured were taken to the hospital, but Mumtaz died of his injuries. The complainant stated that the defendant attacked his family at the instigation of a Salim Khan who promised revenge. When contacted by the Lytton Road investigating police, they said they were working hard to track down the killer.
