FIA, the police thwarted the terrorist bid for the Independence Day program

Karachi: On Friday, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FIA) and the police defeated a major terrorist bid to celebrate Karachi’s Independence Day.
The two suspects were arrested by FIA and Malir district police during a joint operation in Jokhio Goth, Gulshan-e-Maymar area.
According to the police, the arrested suspects-identified as Ikram Chandio and Sheeraz Soomro-admitted in the preliminary interrogation that they were involved in planning terrorist activities in the city on August 14.
Malir SPP Irfan Bahadur stated that the “terrorists” belonged to an anti-state organization in Sindh.
He said that the arrest was based on intelligence and the suspect’s two grenades were confiscated. Currently, further investigations into this matter are underway.
