Engineer technical allowance requirements

Lahore: The Lahore University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Faculty Association (TSA) organized a protest demonstration, demanding that engineers working in university departments be given technical allowances at a rate of 1.5 times the basic salary. Allowances are given to engineers working in various departments of the Punjab Provincial Government.

The demonstration was held outside the Lahore Press Club on Wednesday night. Engineers working at Tevta and representatives of the All Pakistan Association of University Academic Staff (FAPUASA) also participated in the demonstration.

UET-TSA officials also warned of expanding the scope of the protest and stated that teachers could also boycott the university’s management committee until their demands were met.
