Elon Musk abandons Apple, calling Epic the right technology news

Tesla CEO Elon Musk fully supports Epic Games, the maker of Fortnite, which challenged Apple’s charges on its App Store.
“The cost of the Apple App Store is actually a global tax on the Internet. Epic is right,” he said in a tweet.
Apple is already fighting a lawsuit filed by Epic Games last year that accused iPhone manufacturers of abusing its dominant position in the mobile application market. Epic broke Apple’s rules when it introduced its own in-app payment system to circumvent Apple’s commissions in Fortnite.
Apple defended its App Store practices in court and hearings, but did not immediately comment.
Obviously, Musk rejected a report that revealed that he had talked with Apple boss Tim Cook about the possibility of acquiring the electric car manufacturer and taking over as the CEO of the iPhone manufacturer.
“One time I asked to meet with Cook to discuss Apple’s acquisition of Tesla. No terms were put forward. He refused to meet,” Musk said in another tweet.
Earlier this week, during a conference call between Tesla and Wall Street analysts, Musk lashed out at Apple, criticizing the company’s “walled garden” or its strictly controlled technology ecosystem, and its impact on cobalt. Used, cobalt is a key mineral in the manufacture of lithium-ion batteries.
