Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has suspended flights to and from Swat’s Saidu Shref Airport, making it impossible to operate again.

Due to the lack of the required number of passengers, the flag carrier cancelled the Islamabad-Saidu Sharif flight.
In March, at the request of the airline, the Saidu Sharif Airport was put into operation. PIA’s maiden flight landed at the airport on March 26, marking the resumption of flights to Saidu Sharif after 17 years.

The national airline has announced that it will operate two flights from Lahore and Islamabad to Saidu Sharif within a week.

Saidu Sharif Airport has been in a non-operational state since 2004, because the national airline stopped operating commercial flights to this destination for safety reasons.
