Dr. Yasmin Rashid said to strengthen the surveillance of dengue fever

Lahore: The Minister of Health of Punjab, Dr. Yasmin Rashid, stated that officials who fail to submit a dengue report must be disciplined. She said this while presiding over a meeting of the Cabinet Committee in Darbar Hall of the Civil Service Secretariat.

Saeed-ul-Hassan Shah, Minister of Auqaf of Punjab Province, Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary, Secretary of Primary and Secondary Health Departments, Secretary of Auqaf, Secretary of Environment, Secretary of Agriculture, Deputy Commissioner Lahore and others attended the meeting.

The Minister of Health reviewed the province’s efforts to eradicate dengue fever, and the executive secretaries of different departments submitted their respective department’s progress reports to the Minister of Health.

Dr. Yasmin Rashid said that the increase in dengue fever cases may prove to be dangerous, and increased indoor surveillance must be strengthened immediately. She said that all agencies must work together to control dengue fever, adding that the commissioner and deputy commissioner must ensure compliance. People must keep their homes, offices and shops clean.

The PHA must ensure the cleanliness of the green belt and the park. She added that Minister Okaf must submit a report on conducting dengue fever monitoring in the Holy Land. The Chief Secretary of Punjab directed the improvement of the quality of reports and supervision.
