“The next week, I went to Vince’s office for the first time, and I liked it,” Callisto said. “I had a very good conversation with him. I called him the boss or “Mr. Hey”. He was like, “You have a lot of potential, and you will go far. “I plan to talk to him next week, but they [writers] It’s like, “You went to a show with John Cena.” I thought,’Okay, it’s cool. “Then you will compete with Del Rio for the title.”

Alberto Del Rio praised Callisto in front of Vince McMahon
Callisto defeated Alberto Del Rio in the WWE RAW episode on January 11, 2016 and won the American championship. Three days later, he lost the title to Del Rio, and then regained the title in the 2016 Royal Battle.
After his first championship victory, Callisto watched Del Rio praise him, with Vince McMahon in the background.
“I was wondering how he would win?” Callisto said. “But I am a professional, you throw things at me, I will perform. When that [the title win] It happened and they told me it was done before I went out. Del Rio helped me a lot.
“We did it. When I won and I was behind, I started to cry. I was behind, when Del Rio said in front of Vince and me,’When you look at this kid, it starts to hit me. This kid is ready Okay. You need to do something to him.'”
Calisto was released from WWE in April after working for Vince McMahon’s company for eight years. His last WWE game was played in the Giant Andre Memorial Battle at WrestleMania SmackDown.
