Destroyed 3,150 liters of beverages

Lahore: With the increase in the consumption of soda and beverages in the summer, the Punjab Food Authority (PFA), under the direction of the Director General Irfan Ali Niswana, initiated a special inspection of soda companies and stalls across the province activity.
In the action on Wednesday, the PFA team inspected 447 production units, of which the production of 10 units was shut down and imposed heavy fines on 139 companies. Officials said that warning notices have been issued to 208 units and 3,150 liters of soda and beverages have been destroyed on site.
According to detailed information, 148 production units were inspected in the Lahore area, 113 were inspected in Rawalpindi, and 186 were inspected in South Punjab. PFA DG stated that due to the use of artificial flavors, rusting of machines and unavailable filters, many units have stopped production and 11 units of samples have been sent to the laboratory for further analysis.
