Deadly COVID-19 wave killed more than 100 people in Pakistan for the first time in nearly three months

• NCOC data shows that COVID-19 has claimed 102 lives in the past 24 hours

Islamabad: Pakistan reported on Thursday that more than 100 people have died from the coronavirus nearly three months later.

The country last reported more than 100 deaths on May 20, 2021.

According to data provided by the official website of the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), approximately 102 people have died from the coronavirus in the past 24 hours, bringing the national death toll to 24,187.

According to NCOC, 59,397 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours. Of these, 4,934 were positive.

At the same time, the country’s reported positive rate was 8.30%.

Health experts are concerned about the increasing number of cases, as Pakistan has so far reported 1,085,294 cases of COVID-19.

The number of active cases was 85,633, and the number of people recovering nationwide rose to 975,474.

Overall, there has been no significant decline or rise in coronavirus cases across Pakistan, but the blockade of Sindh Province was lifted on Monday. The Sindh provincial government announced that the revised COVID-19 restrictions will continue until August 31.
