COVID-19 killed 40 people, Pakistan reported 2,579 new cases in one day

In the past 24 hours, the coronavirus has claimed 40 lives across the country, bringing the death toll from the disease to 22,888.

According to the latest National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) update, after 41,186 samples have been tested, as many as 2,579 new Covid-19 cases have emerged.
It said that the positive rate of infection was 6.26%. After the detection of 2,579 new cases, the number of cases in the country climbed to 996,451.

NCOC said that a total of 2,590 patients across the country are receiving intensive care in hospitals, and the number of people who have recovered from the disease in the past 24 hours has increased by 939, and the number of people who have recovered since the beginning of the pandemic is 922,034.

Due to Eid al-Fitr, Covid-19 vaccination centers across the country will continue to be closed today.

NCOC is the highest agency that oversees the country’s response to the new crown pneumonia epidemic and has decided to close the vaccination center on the first day of Eid al-Fitr, July 21 (Wednesday). They will be open on the second day of Eid al-Fitr.
