Court seeks form of charges against suspects who sold “stolen” Pfizer vaccines

Karachi: A local court in Karachi has asked the police for a complete allegation form, accusing the suspect of selling stolen Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine in the city. news Reported on Saturday.

A magistrate instructed the case investigating officer (IO) to submit challenges to Amanullah Sultan, Muhammad Ali and Major Muhammad Zeshan (retd) within two weeks. The magistrate sent the suspect to prison, awaiting judicial remand.

At the beginning of the hearing, the IO submitted a progress report to the suspect. According to reports, Zeeshan, a government vaccinator, provided the stolen vaccines to two other suspects, who illegally vaccinated the public with these vaccines.

According to prosecutors, Sudan owns a healthcare company that provides Pfizer vaccines to the public at a price of 15,000 rupees per dose. He was arrested after his employee Ali was arrested in an assassination operation by the health and police authorities in the Sardar area.

According to the report, the police also seized a box of syringes, vials and specimen collection swabs and an empty vaccination card from the health department of Sindh province from Ali, and arrested Zeshan based on the clues he provided.

Preliminary investigation found that these vaccines were stolen from the Eastern District Vaccination Center where Zeeshan works. It is believed that the suspects have sold them to at least 60 people in the city.

The first information report (FIR) was registered based on a complaint by Southern Drug Inspector Ghulam Ali, who said he had reliable information about a company that was involved in stealing Pfizer vaccine from the government and selling it to the public.

On July 25, at a meeting in a restaurant in Sardar, the drug inspector contacted Ali and agreed to buy Pfizer vaccine from him, where the police arrested the suspect.

The case has been registered under Article 420 (cheating), 409 (criminal breach of trust) and 34 (common intent) of the Pakistani Criminal Code and Article 30 of the Drug Law.
