Corona killed 79 lives in Pakistan in one day

In the past 24 hours, Pakistan has added 79 new COVID-19 deaths, bringing the country’s total death toll to 24,266.

The National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) stated that after the emergence of 4,619 new infections, the total number of confirmed cases in the country has risen to 1,089,913. A total of 979,411 people have recovered from the pandemic, adding that the positive rate of infection is 7.76% compared to yesterday’s 8.30%. NCOC stated that COVID-19 has claimed 79 lives across Pakistan in the past 24 hours, adding that 4,656 people are in critical condition. To date, Pakistan has performed 16,735,031 tests to diagnose the deadly virus, of which 59,504 tests have been performed in the past 24 hours. Sindh province is the most affected area in the country with 407,892 infections, followed by Punjab province with 369,358 cases reported. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province ranked third with 150,708 cases. So far, 92,768 people in Islamabad, 31,396 people in Balochistan, 28,654 people in AJK and the United Kingdom have reported 9,137 new infections. On Thursday, Asad Umar, the Federal Minister of Planning and Development and the head of NCOC, stated that so far, 40 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been vaccinated across the country. In a tweet, Asad Umar stated that the final 10 million doses took only 9 working days to complete.
