NCOC said that after the emergence of 4,934 new infections, the total number of confirmed cases in the country has risen to 1,085,294. A total of 975,474 people have recovered from the pandemic, adding that the positive rate of infection is 8.30% compared to 7.50% yesterday. NCOC stated that COVID-19 has claimed 102 lives across Pakistan in the past 24 hours, adding that 4,584 people are in critical condition. To date, Pakistan has performed a total of 16,675,527 tests to diagnose the deadly virus, of which 59,397 tests have been performed in the past 24 hours. Sindh province is the most affected area in the country with 406,109 infections, followed by Punjab province with 368,195 cases reported. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province ranked third with 150,026 cases. To date, 9,043 new infections have been reported in Islamabad 92,233, Balochistan 31,341, AJK 28,347 and GB. Yesterday, the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) shortened the interval between two COVID-19 vaccinations from 42 days to 28 days to speed up the nationwide vaccination work.
