According to reports, just like 24 hours on Wednesday, Eid al-Fitr did not slack off Covid victims in Sindh. As many as 28 people have fallen into the fourth wave of the global pandemic, and 1,336 new cases have emerged at the same time.
Chief Minister Sind Murad Ali Shah said in his daily Covid briefing on Wednesday that 28 people have died of Covid in the past 24 hours.
With the new death toll reported today, the death toll in Sindh has risen to 5,784 since the first outbreak of the virus.
He said that due to the rampant delta variant of the virus, 66 patients need ventilator support so far.

In the past 24 hours, the coronavirus has claimed 40 lives across the country, bringing the death toll from the disease to 22,888.
According to the latest National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) update, after 41,186 samples have been tested, as many as 2,579 new Covid-19 cases have emerged.
It said that the positive rate of infection was 6.26%. After the detection of 2,579 new cases, the number of cases in the country climbed to 996,451.
