Carl Nassib, who played defensively for the Las Vegas Raiders of the American football team, declared that he was gay, becoming the first active member of the National Football League (NFL) to publicly admit that he was gay.

He made a statement in a video posted to Instagram.

“I am at home in West Chester, Pennsylvania,” said 28-year-old Nasibu. “I just want to take a moment to say that I am gay.
