This Federal Cabinet Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry (Fawad Chaudhry) said that with the threat of cyber warfare imminent, the first ever cyber security policy has been approved to improve national security.

Fawad said at a press conference in Islamabad after the cabinet meeting on Tuesday that the world is rapidly moving towards cyber warfare, and the government has formulated comprehensive policies in this regard, which are vital to protecting the cybersecurity system and electronic data of citizens.

Favard said that in the past, the government abused official resources only to defeat opposition candidates in the by-election, and in the country’s history, only PTI did not take this approach.

The minister said that the government and opposition parties are making progress in their consultations on electoral reform.

Advertising policy

The minister stated that the Cabinet has also approved an advertising policy for 2021, which envisages advertising to digital media as well.

He said that there is currently no media arrears to the Press and Information Department (PID).

The minister said that the current government has taken measures to solve this problem and will soon implement necessary legislation in this area.

Fawad said that PID has become paperless, and advertising and dues payment details can now be found on its website.
