BD’s Hasina reciprocates good wishes for Pakistan

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday reciprocated her good wishes for the leadership and the people of Pakistan in response to her Pakistani counterpart Imran Khan’s message of goodwill and friendship.

The message was conveyed by Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Bangladesh Imran Ahmed Siddiqui, who called on Hasina in Dhaka, read a statement. This was his second meeting with Premier Hasina since his arrival last year.

“Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Bangladesh Imran Ahmed Siddiqui on Monday presented Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina a photographic memoir of the visit of her father and country’s late Prime Minister Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to Pakistan in 1974,” it read.

The memoir comprised a photo album along with videos of Sheikh Mujib’s engagements at the summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) held in Pakistan, besides his portrait at the Lahore Museum.

The high commissioner also presented the Bangla version of a coffee table book titled ‘Ala’ma Bil Qalam’, which is based on the compilation of calligraphic art rendered by the Pakistani artists, to PM Hasina. She thanked the high commissioner for the gifts.

“The high commissioner conveyed Prime Minister Imran Khan’s message of goodwill and friendship to the Bangladesh prime minister and the people of her country,” it read, “[Bangladesh] PM Hasina reciprocated the good wishes for the leadership and people of Pakistan.”

Moreover, the high commissioner thanked PM Hasina for her support in implementing his diplomatic mandate in Bangladesh. “The two sides agreed to further promote bilateral relations between the two countries,” according to the Pakistan High Commission Bangladesh tweet.

The meeting, which lasted for 45 minutes, was held in a very cordial atmosphere, it added.
