Azerbaijan, Turkey applauds Pakistan for promoting peace in Afghanistan

Azerbaijan and Turkey on Wednesday praised Pakistan’s role in promoting peace in the region, especially the country’s efforts for peace in Afghanistan.

According to a statement issued by the International Service Public Relations (ISPR), Army Chief of Staff General Kamal Javed Bajwa and Azerbaijan’s Interior Minister Evazov Vilayat Suleiman Ogru entered There will be talks between General Elchin Guliyev and Director General Ali Naghi Oglu Naghiyev of the National Security Service in Baku, Azerbaijan today.

According to military media, Azerbaijani officials and the Army Chief of Staff discussed “issues of common concern, bilateral defense and security cooperation, regional peace and stability, and cooperation in energy, trade, and interconnection projects.”

“The emerging geostrategic paradigm in the region requires us to work closely together and collectively address common challenges,” General Bajwa told officials. He also called for increasing “mutually beneficial exchanges at all levels and forums” between Azerbaijan and Pakistan.

ISPR stated that Azerbaijani officials recognized the high professional standards of the Pakistani army. They also praised the military for its “contribution to conflict prevention in the region, especially its efforts to achieve peace in Afghanistan.”

After his trip to Azerbaijan, General Bajwa arrived in Turkey for a one-day visit and met with senior officials of the country.

During the visit, the Army Chief of Staff held talks with Turkish Defense Minister General Hulusi Akar. General Yasar Güle, Chief of the General Staff of Turkey, and General Umit Dundal, commander of the army, attended the meeting.

According to ISPR, Turkish officials and the Army Chief of Staff discussed issues of common concern, the regional security situation, including the latest developments in the Afghan peace process, and bilateral defense and security cooperation.

The military media stated that General Bajwa appreciated Turkey’s contacts with Pakistan, especially the continuous efforts made for peace in the region.

“Turkey is one of the main Muslim countries in the region, and strengthening Pakistan-Turkey cooperation will have a positive impact on regional peace and stability,” General Bajwa told Turkish officials.

ISPR stated that Turkish officials appreciate Pakistan’s active role in regional peace and stability, especially the peace process in Afghanistan. They also pledged to continue working to improve relations between the two countries.

Earlier on arrival, General Bajwa was also awarded a guard of honor by a shrewd military contingent.
