As the government refused to agree to postpone the exams in the country, the opposition went on strike during the National Assembly meeting on Friday.
Before leaving, Khawaja Saad Rafique of PML-N said that he had asked the Federal Minister of Education Shafqat Mehmood to postpone the country’s exams, but he had not received any news from the government.
“If the government does not decide to postpone the exam, then we should be told why it plans to take the supplementary exam within 45 days?” he asked.
In response, Vajha Akram, secretary of the Federal Council for Education and Professional Training, said that the examination in Balochistan has ended, while the examination in Sindh is in progress.
Rafik responded to Akram saying that this means that the government does not want to talk with the opposition parties about postponing the exam.
After Rafic issued a statement, the opposition party and PML-N went on strike.
After the strike ended, Sheikh Fayyaz-ud-Din of PML-N pointed out that the quorum was insufficient, and NA Speaker Asad Qaiser, who presided over the meeting, adjourned the meeting until Monday.
