Islamabad: Pakistan’s star athlete Arshad Nadim, who has qualified for the final round of the javelin competition, will hold the Pakistani flag at the closing ceremony of the Tokyo Olympics on August 8. He will appear on Wednesday.

The publication reported: “We have notified the International Olympic Committee (IOC) that Al Shad’s name has been finalized as the flag bearer of the Pakistani contingent at the closing ceremony.”

As his event was originally scheduled to start on August 4th, Arshad arrived in Tokyo late and missed the opening parade.

It is expected that the closing ceremony will be the least number of participating countries, because most of the athletes who have completed their pledges have returned to their respective countries or are on their way home.

Two Pakistani shooters who have participated in the 25m rapid-fire pistol competition will return to China on Wednesday (today).
