Anti-occupation operations continued in parts of Karachi

On Saturday, the Karachi Metropolitan Company continued its encroachment on different areas of the city.
According to detailed information shared by Bashir Siddiqui, the company’s head of anti-occupation, all seven districts of the city are carrying out anti-occupation operations under the direction of the Supreme Court.
He explained that the anti-occupation operations were carried out along several storm drains in the city.
He said that in the Central District, operations are being carried out at 10 different locations along the mighty Gujar Nullah, adding that in the Western District and Kimali District, the encroachment along Orangi Nullah, the city’s second largest drainage ditch, is being cleared.
At the same time, he said that in the Eastern District, a large area of Aladdin Park has been cleared.
In the Sardar area of the southern zone, the encroachment was cleared at two locations on Saturday. On June 14, 2021, the Supreme Court declared that the encroachment on these two locations was illegal and ordered their removal within two days.
In Landhi No VI and Korangi 51-B in Korangi District, the green belt was cleared. Siddiqui said that UC-12 in the Malir district also abolished illegal occupations.
