In the past 24 hours, another 19 people have died of Covid-19 in Sindh, and another 668 people have tested positive for the disease. The number of deaths due to viral coronavirus infection in the province has reached 5,292.

Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said in his daily situation report on health emergencies on Wednesday that 13,755 samples were tested in the past 24 hours, resulting in 668 people (Ie 5% of people who are screened) are diagnosed with Covid-19.

He added that so far, the provincial government has conducted 4,326,212 tests, resulting in 329,930 positive cases, which means that 8% of the people who have been screened have been found to be infected.

Shah said that after the recent deaths, the number of confirmed cases in Sindh who failed to fight Covid-19 was 2%. He said that 19,941 people in the province are currently infected: 19,263 people are in self-isolation at home, 25 people are in isolation centers, 653 people are in hospitals, and 606 people are in critical condition, of which 46 are in life support.

He added that in the past 24 hours, another 3,833 people have recovered and the number of people cured has increased to 304,697, with a recovery rate of 92.3%. CM said that of the 668 new cases in Sindh, Karachi had reported 421 (or more than 63%): 125 of the new patients in the city were from the Eastern District, 94 from the Southern District, and 84 from the Central District. 79 were from Korangi District, 30 were from Malir District, and 9 were from West District.

As for the rest of the province, Hyderabad has reported 40 new cases, Thatta 24, Shaheed Benazirabad 19, Sanghar 18, Badin and Matiari 14 each, Jamshoro 12, Kambar 11, Sukkur and Tando Allahyar 10 each, Dadupur, Tharparkar and Mir He added that there were 9 each for Jacobabad and Naushehroferoze, 6 each for Tando Muhammad Khan, 4 each for Khairpur and Umerkot, two each for Ghotki, and one each for Larkana and Sujawal.

The Chief Executive once again called on the people of Sindh to abide by the standard operating procedures established by the provincial government.
