In the past 24 hours, the novel coronavirus has claimed another 24 lives in Sindh, bringing the death toll in the province to 5,464. At the same time, 595 people infected with the new coronavirus were treated in various hospitals, of which 530 were in critical condition and 48 of them were transferred to the life support system.

The Chief Minister of Sindh Province Said Murad Ali Shah expressed this in his daily statement on the pandemic situation in the province on Wednesday. He said that in addition to the 24 deaths, 622 new cases of Covid-19 were found in the first 24 hours after the 14,520 tests. He added that there were 5,464 deaths in the province and the Covid-19 death rate was 1.6%.

CM explained that the 622 new patients diagnosed with 14,520 samples constituted the current detection rate of 4.3%. He said that so far, the province has conducted 4,506,973 tests for Covid-19 and found 337,657 cases, of which 92.6% or 312,736 patients have recovered, of which 399 recovered within the first 24 hours.

CM said that there are currently 19,457 Covid-19 patients in Sindh, of whom 18,802 are in isolation at home, 595 are in different hospitals, and 60 are in isolation centers. According to Shah, of the 622 new patients, 360 were from Karachi, of which 150 were from Eastern District, 72 from Central District, 60 from Korangi, 33 from Southern District, and 27 from Mariel District , 18 from the Western District.

In other areas of Sindh, there are 18 new cases in Hyderabad, Dadu 17, Matiari 12, Qamber-Shahdadkot 11, Badin 10, Jamshoro 6, Ghotki and Khairpur 4 each, Sukkur 2, Larkana, Shaheed Benazirabad and Tharparkar each have A new case.
