Islamabad: In the past 15 years, nearly 400 high-ranking Pakistani civil servants have obtained a government plot in Islamabad with a total value of 250 billion rupees. News Reported on Saturday, citing exclusive official details.

These luxurious plots are located in the center of the federal capital. According to the publication, they were assigned to senior civil servants (BS-22) under the “controversial” policy approved by the previous government.

All plots have an area of ​​500 square yards and a combined market value of 25 billion rupees.

The top civil servants include judges, federal secretaries, director-generals, and heads of different autonomous agencies. The report shows that they only paid a total of 1.6 billion rupees to acquire government land.

The other 34 officers of BS-22, all of whom have retired, were unable to obtain this additional plot of land under the plan. Some of them challenged the “true spirit of the plan” in court. In 2014, the Federal Cabinet and the Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court Athar Minallah and Supreme Court Justice Qazi Faez Isa also challenged it last year.

The Public Accounts Committee of the Supreme Accountability Forum of the elected representatives called it a “controversial” policy and recommended that the low-cost allocation of plots to judges, generals, bureaucrats, journalists and others should be stopped.

Among them, more than 40 judges of higher courts have been approved, including 4 former chief justices, 5 FIA director-generals, 6 chief secretaries, 17 provincial governors, 16 interior ministers, 11 organizational secretaries, 18 cabinet secretaries, There are 10 FIA presidents. FBR, 17 police chiefs, 11 CDA chairpersons, 4 Supreme Court clerks, 7 presidential secretaries and many other secretaries.

The wives of more than a dozen senior civil servants also got additional conspiracies.

In a recent distribution bid, more than twenty secretaries approved a market value ranging from 40 million to 60 million rupees each, depending on their location.

The difference between the market value of the plot and the preferential value determined for the distribution is the taxable allowance.

However, a senior tax official stated that because the FBR failed to enforce tax laws on bureaucrats, no civil servants provided this tax value, illegally making it a prerequisite for tax exemption.

Official documents show that the Ministry of Law stated in its findings that it was illegal to allocate plots to government officials and others in 2013.

In its summary to FGEHF, the Ministry recommended that the practice of blue-eyed officers must be “eternal exile and burial.”
