This is the first time that Kagiso Rabada’s case has been made public. It centers on the Wanderers test against England in the 2015-16 season. Hussein Manack claimed that the team management (AB de Villiers was the captain at the time) did not want Rabada to participate in the game.

He gave a detailed account of the incident, and he said:

“I went to the practice range the day before and had to decide between playing Kyle Abbott and Hardus Villejoen,” said Manak, the draft pick at the time. “Discussed in practice, they [the team management] Said we must give up KG [Rabada].”

“I asked why. Labada is only 20 years old and he has not established himself as a great player. But I saw him in the Lions team and he got through the difficulties there. I have seen him a lot. “I bring it back [bowling coach] Charl Langeveldt and… Charl’s point of view is that he is comfortable and everyone in the selection team agreed that Labada must play. I said our decision is that Labada must play. There is one more place to fill. We said between Abbott and Viljoen, you decide who you want. Either way, we do not have strong opinions. In the end, they chose Viljoen, but they were not satisfied with our insistence on our position,” Manack claimed.

Kagiso Rabada scored five wickets in that game and then scored a career best 13/144 in the next game.
