Antoine Griezmann said that after the expiration of his contract with Barcelona, he still wants to move to the United States.
The France international said last year that playing for the Major League Soccer has long been one of his professional goals.
The 30-year-old player has three years left on his contract at Camp Nou, and he said he may eventually leave Europe to experience the American way of life.
What did you say?
When asked if he would transfer to MLS at the age of 32 or 33, Griezmann said Figaro: “I still have three years. I have to pay attention to my body, because it can change at any time.
“My contract with Barcelona will last until June 2024, after which I think it is the right time to go to the United States.
“I love this country, culture, NBA, and desire for adventure attract me, but I also have a family and I have to move there.
“I want to end my career there, but still be good enough on the court and win MLS, instead of getting nothing, it looks like nothing on the court. It doesn’t make sense.”
How did Griezmann perform in Barcelona?
Griezmann was Barcelona’s second scorer in La Liga last season.
The former Real Sociedad and Atletico Madrid star scored 13 goals and the Nou Camp ranked third in the standings.
He also scored two goals in the Champions League and three goals in the Copa del Rey, one of which was in the final. The Catalan team defeated the Athletic Club 4-0.
How is he in France?
The striker is a regular starter for Didier Deschamps’ French team.
Griezmann scored goals in every friendly match against Wales and Bulgaria before the Euro 2020 in France. He played 90 minutes in both Euro 2021 matches in France.
