“I never doubted any great athlete”

Jose Aldo Explained why he believed Conor McGregor Despite his recent setbacks, he can return and win another UFC championship.

Before this weekend’s game against Pedro Munhoz, the Brazilian explained his Recent comments on his former featherweight opponent.

During UFC 265 Media Day, Aldo said he would never doubt a successful athlete like Conor McGregor.

“I never doubt any great athlete. It has nothing to do with sports. I never doubt their mentality. So, yes, I never doubt him.”

Aldo and McGregor have a relationship in the UFC. The two met at UFC 194, one of the most anticipated championship battles in UFC history. In just 13 seconds, the battle was over.

The Irishman captured Aldo with his infamous counter-left attack and defeated the “Junior” in a cruel way to win the UFC Featherweight Championship.

But despite the discord between the two before, Aldo clearly expressed his respect for McGregor, and McGregor did the same thing immediately after the battle a few years ago.

Aldo is now focusing on his career in the bantamweight class and will play against Brazilian boxer Pedro Monholz in the UFC 265 United Main Event on August 7.

Conor McGregor is currently recovering after UFC 264 injury

In the UFC 264 pay-per-view show, Connor McGregor suffered a serious leg injury during a trilogy match against Dustin Boyle.

The two fought an explosive third battle, and McGregor even tried to submit to “Diamond”.

But in the end it was Poirier who won and raised his hand for the second time against the former double division champion.

McGregor is currently recovering from a broken leg and hopes to return to the octagonal shape sometime in 2022.
