Hundreds of untied fans tried to rush into the gates of Wembley Stadium to participate in the Euro 2020 final between England and Italy on Sunday.

The video posted on social media showed that the atmosphere had become very bad a few hours before the kick-off, and supporters were struggling to get past the butlers and police.

Although some of the fans shown in the video appeared to cross the fence and walk towards the venue, Wembley officials insisted that the stadium’s security measures were not violated.

A spokesperson for Wembley Stadium said: “We are dealing with an incident that occurred in a safe area outside the stadium and has the support of the police.

“Security measures in the relevant areas were quickly activated, and no one entered the security breach of the stadium without a ticket.”

The Metropolitan Police wrote on Twitter: “Not long ago, we supported the security team at Wembley Stadium in this incident.

“Wembley security officials have confirmed that there is no security breach for people entering the stadium without a ticket.”

Before the game started in 1900 GMT, thousands of fans gathered on Olympic Boulevard, and the atmosphere outside Wembley Stadium became enthusiastic.

Some drunk fans threw beer cans and bottles and traffic cones, and red flares and fireworks were lit.

Since supporters who don’t wear masks gather in groups on specific corridors of the stadium, social distancing is ignored.

Since Gareth Southgate’s team booked the country’s first Grand Slam final in 55 years, England has been plagued by the euro fever.

The goal of the Three Lions is to win the first trophy since the 1966 World Cup.

As the coronavirus restrictions still exist, the final capacity of Wembley Stadium is limited to 67,500, with approximately 7,500 seats reserved for Italian fans.
